California Department of Education (CDE)

Accountability Progress Reporting System (APR)

APR is an umbrella term that covers California's accountability system, the Academic Performance Index (API); the federal accountability system, Adequate Yearly Process (AYP); and the federal Program Improvement (PI) report.
The CDE maintains a central directory page with useful links to all three parts of the APR, including the record layout files.

Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS)

Advises the State Board of Education on all aspects of the Board’s duties under the Charter Schools Act of 1992
Assists the Board in fulfilling its proper role of ensuring that charter schools realize higher student achievement

School Accountability Report Card (SARC) :

The CDE has made available the data definitions that support the 2005-06 SARC template (for report cards published in the 2006-07 school year).
The data definitions provide a summary of the specific requirements, definitions and data sources for each reporting element in the SARC template.

SARC Data Definitions (Changes)

The CDE has made available a document that provides a summary of changes in the SARC data definitions from 2004-05 to 2005-06.

SARC Template

The CDE has made available the 2005-06 SARC template for report cards published in the 2006-07 school year.
Included with the template is a suggested format for an optional, two-page Executive Summary SARC.

California Association of School Psychologists (CASP)

Largest statewide membership organization for school psychologists in the U.S.
Serves as a liaison between psychologists practicing in California’s schools and various state boards and commissions

California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)

Serves as the state standards board for:
Educator preparation for the public schools of California
The licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State
The enforcement of professional practices of educators
The discipline of credential holders in the State of California.

Only available at the request of an employer
Available in Single Subject, Multiple Subject and Education Specialist Instruction areas

California Legislation

Official site for California legislative information
Both Assembly and Senate bills are updated daily

California School Board Association (CSBA)

Collaborative group of nearly all of California’s more than 1,000 school districts and county offices of education
Brings together school governing boards and their districts and county offices on behalf of California’s children

Calisphere

Public service project of the California Digital Library (CDL)
Offers free access to over 150,000 digitized items from the libraries and museums of the UC campuses and cultural heritage organizations
