High Quality Charter (HQC) Grant Program

Oftentimes, the areas that need charter schools the most are ones who can afford it the least. That’s where our High Quality Charter Grant Program comes in.

Funded by a grant partnership with the Walton Family Foundation, it provides start-up and planning grants to help establish charter schools in high need urban school districts throughout California.

To qualify for funding applicants must:

Demonstrate potential for delivering excellent academic results
Serve significant low-income student populations
Draw a majority of their students from one of the following CA urban school districts: Los Angeles , Fresno , San Diego , Oakland or Sacramento
Have a 501 (c) 3 IRS designation or pass a credit check
Agree to participate in a charter school portfolio evaluation conducted by CREDO
