Summit Public School: Sierra will open in the fall of 2015 in South Seattle. Summit Sierra will start with one class of 120 9th graders and grow to serve grades 9-12 by the 2018-'19 school year. Summit Sierra is committed to serving a diverse group of students and families in South Seattle, with a particular focus on either Southwest or Southeast communities, helping to close the significant demographic achievement gap. Summit Sierra will provide each and every student with the education best suited to meet their individual needs and to prepare them for success in college, regardless of their previous preparation and background. Summit Sierra leadership will spend almost two years getting to know the community before the school opens its doors, soliciting community input on how to translate Summit's success in California to the unique needs of students and families in South Seattle.
