"Our mission is to increase student achievement by supporting and expanding California's quality public school movement."

The Association : Overview > What makes us different

For the Association and our members, “quality” is more than just a word. It’s our foundation, our touchstone. We strive to create not just schools but schools of the highest caliber and quality.

To demonstrate their high standards, Association member schools first sign Quality Standards for Charter School Operations:

Student Achievement First
Ethical Leadership
Continuous Focus on Increasing Quality
Responsible Governance
Fiscal Accountability

They then undergo a third-party review consisting of:

A thorough self-study
On-site visit by a team of neutral evaluators
Development of a comprehensive action plan

Upon successful completion of this review process, a school is a Certified Member of the Association. High-profile stakeholders and the charter school community will be notified of this significant accomplishment and the school will receive prestige and distinction. Most importantly, “quality” will once again be so much more than a mere word.
